1. Save the Children create contactless Christmas jumpers

Save the Children is taking ugly Christmas sweaters to new heights this year with the help of Visa! The two companies have partnered together to create the first contactless Christmas sweaters (known as jumpers in the UK), which fundraisers will be wearing in London tube stations today, Friday the 14th! The sweaters can accept tap donation of £2,  which goes to the Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day initiative!  

2. Here's when the busiest holiday shopping day of 2018 will be

We were excited to see our data in the news this week, as our prediction for the busiest shopping day of the year made headlines! Friday December 21st is being forecasted as the busiest shopping day of the year, with 2pm EST being the busiest shopping hour. This is another year where the Friday before Christmas is likely to be the busiest shopping day, with December 22nd last year's busiest day.

3. Visa crosses 20 million contactless cards in India

Are you still unsure if contactless payments are a worldwide phenomenon? Then it’s time to turn your attention to India, where Visa announced this week that over 20 million Visa contactless cards have been issued in India since their launch in 2015! In addition to this, Visa also revealed that there is now over one million payment terminals across the country.

4. Mobile Wallets from Apple, Google Launch in Europe

Mobile or digital wallets are continuing to launch across the globe, this week in Germany and France! Google Pay is being launched in France, supporting Visa and Mastercard payments from six banks and credit card companies. Apple Pay is launching in Germany, supporting 14 credit card brands and issuers!
