1. Mastercard dropped its name from its logo because the future of payment is digital
Mastercard decided to start 2019 with a fresh new look, changing their iconic logo to something a little more simple but still distinctly Mastercard. The new logo keeps their interlocking red and yellow circles, while removing something major, their name! This change comes after nearly two years of research to ensure consumers could still recognize the wordless design. 2. BMO Wins Top Digital Innovation Award at 2018 Banking Technology Awards
It’s always exciting to see one of our parent companies taking home awards, and this news coming from BMO is a great way to start the year off strong! BMO has won the Top Digital Innovation Award at the 2018 Banking Technology Awards for BMO QuickPay, a new way for customers to pay their bills. This solution is in the pilot stage, with a public launch targeted for Fall 2019!
3. You Will Soon Be Able To Pay STM Bus Fare With Just Your Debit/Credit Card In Montreal
Paying for your ride on Montreal public transit will be getting much easier in 2019, with a number of changes coming to the system. One of these changes will be the potential for commuters to pay for their fare through credit or debit cards! An exact timeline for this upgrade has yet to be announced, it will surely make taking transit much more simple when it does take effect!
4. Honda unveils in-vehicle experience with Visa, new retail, payment partners
As this headline reminded us, payments can truly happen anywhere! Honda unveiled a fully integrated in-car experience called Honda Dream Drive this week, allowing drivers and passengers to use voice control and mobile technology to buy gas, park or order food directly within a vehicles dashboard. Honda is offering demos at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show, and we’re excited to see it live in action soon!
