1. Mastercard Introduces True Name Card
This week Mastercard announced their True Name card, a credit card that will help to address a major pain point in the LGBTQIA+ community. According to Mastercard “For many in the LGBTQIA+ community, the name on their credit, debit or prepaid card does not reflect their true identity. 2. RBC clients can finally use Google Pay in stores
RBC clients are now able to use Google Pay in stores to make purchases through their mobile devices! The service was added this week, with RBC staying that support for “all personal Visa, Mastercard and Interac cards” will be coming in the near future. Given that the feature is rolling out slowly, most cards should be accepted soon!
3. Wirecard introduces palm biometrics payment terminal
Wirecard, a financial commerce digital platform, is adding palm biometrics payment terminal to their expanding portfolio of biometrics solutions. This payment solution would allow registered uses to place their palms on the biometric scanner for identify verification, which would trigger a real-time payment. 4. Shopify Announces Global E-Commerce Features in Shopify Plus
Shopify kicked off their yearly partner and developer conference in Toronto this week, and announced that they’ll be enhancing Shopify Plus to include global capabilities aimed at enterprises. According to the announcement, Shopify Plus will include new global capabilities surrounding currency support and e-commerce fulfillment network.
